Oh dear me. This was not good at all. It seems in training we have failed to do the following:
1/. Learn how to tackle
2/. Take corners
3/. Try to score from dead ball situations
4/. Defend
In the end we had to resort to Makelele taking our set pieces because others could not lift the ball above 2 feet from set
pieces!
It was another woeful performance from a referee who failed to notice a disgusting elbow to JT's head from Fulham's
Dempsey which normally would result in a red card. Bravely, JT battled on but will be out for 2 months with a fractured
cheekbone.
Sheva today was simply woeful. At least five attempts on goal with only one dribbling effort on target. I have no sympathy
for him whatsoever: a man paid £130k a week who, when the chips were down, decided to go and play golf rather that
knuckle down to get back to match sharpness. One thing I would never do would be to boo him - but I am on the brink.
Drogba was back to his old self today - arguing with the referee and earning a silly booking which eventually lead to his
sending off for an innocuous challenge on a Fulham defender. That cost our chance to scrape a win and in the end we
could have easily lost our unblemished home record.
It was obvious some of the players had a very relaxed attitude. Down to 10 men, Grant introduced the attacking Malouda
for Ashley Cole. Florent was an absolute disgrace. Lazy and off the pace, from an initial positive start he is now looking
like our new Ambrosetti. It does not help that one of his reasons for joining Chelsea was to work with Jose.
This may be one of my last home matches for a while: if I find a buyer for my season ticket I would gladly sell. The
administration running the club, pending marriage, unsociable kick off times and general cost means that I have become
exceedingly disenfranchised. It is a shame that Chelsea did not get rid of Jose earlier, then I would have not renewed my
season ticket or arranged travel for all our European aways!
The biggest piss take of all was having Roman sit in the Shed Upper. Surprised fans sang his name before the odd
brave soul stood up to slag him off for engineering Jose's departure. Well, I hope he is happy - from saving our club he
has now blown our chance to be a dominant world class side. We are going to get annihilated by Valencia - hence am
planning to be less than sober on Wednesday night. I hope I am wrong!
I pray that there is some miracle that the board will bring Jose back, promise never to interfere with team affairs again
and let him do what he wants. There is more chance of me being able to sell my season ticket for face value!
