In a month where Chelsea were yet again blamed for murdering football, we had a day where yet again we saw the bias
of the media against our small club from Stamford Bridge.

Having boycotted Sky, I reverted to listening to the radio for commentary. And how times have changed! Alan Green,
while commentating on BBC Radio 5 Live, claimed the only reason why Rio Ferdinand was giving back chat to the
referee was because of the undue influence of his defensive partner for England, John Terry! Now there is no doubt
that JT can berate officials from time to time (he is rarely wrong either) but to bring this accusation up during an Everton
vs Manchester United game is simply preposterous. It is bad enough having TalkSport trying to wind us up (another
station I have boycotted) but to hear it from an alleged impartial broadcaster that we are forced to pay for (no opting out
of our TV licence fee of course!) is simply a disgrace.

When Chelsea played against the team that can do no wrong (apart from murder football fans) we were accused of
intimidating the referee and always surrounding him - replays of Chelsea players doing so were shown for a week on
Sky. Then, today, Liverpool players quarrelled with the man in black for a long while after he handed a well justified
penalty against them and yet there seems to have been no mention of this incident since on any media channel. Are we
really approaching a stage where only teams in red have positive media coverage?

Then to the Chelsea game. A perfectly good goal disallowed. This, for me, is a far worse decision than any other that
some teams may bleat on about. The penalty awarded at Anfield may have been dubious: but the onus was still on
Lampard to score it. Here, we had a perfectly good goal during a game that Chelsea dominated. I presume that Hackett
will now suspend the linesman for making such a poor decision and will also apologise to Jose Mourinho and us fans. I
shall not hold my breath.

Chelsea were very good today and deserved a win. Joe Cole and SWP were magnificent and if it wasn't for Friedel
(again) we would have sewn up the match at half time. A far improved performance, although I still can't help but feel we
are not the same side that we were when Jose first joined. There is no doubt Blackburn are a strong side: but at home
we should be taking three points. The worry is that United are winning and not playing well. Arsenal look quite formidable
but have not played any strong sides yet (and they drew with Blackburn too). Rosenborg should be a thrashing on
Tuesday and then we face a lacklustre United side on Sunday. Two points dropped today: no thanks to the referee and
his assistants who were appalling.
