12 08 2007        Chelsea 3 Birmingham City 2
Well today was a pretty much fantastic day all round!

The game was enjoyable end to end stuff. Sitting in my new seat after reallocating, the revamped Shed End
atmosphere was the best it has been for a long while - and on top of that a thumping game which could have ended up
6-4!

In defence Chelsea looked weak today. Glen is back but still casts doubt over the right back slot. Ben Haim looked solid
but the main celebration was our forward play. Intricate passing leading to numerous goal scoring opportunities: even
SWP looked world class. Malouda looks like a frighteningly fantastic player and all the goals were beautiful. Pizarro too
looks like a solid forward we need to partner Drogba. Kalou scared their defence at every run but as usual his finishing
left much to be desired.

The question is whether our poor defensive play will cost us over the course of the season. That is nitpicking. With
United drawing 0-0 with our next opponents the season looks bright after some disappointing pre season performances.

Still, it is only one game in and there will be tougher challenges to come - even though Birmingham look like a team that
could beat the drop. Happy faces all round despite it being a Sunday game.

Bring on the goalie killers!
