26 12 2006        Chelsea 2 Reading 2
The wheels have finally fallen off the Jose bandwagon. He has lost the plot, signed the wrong players and I am burning
my season ticket. Well I would, but plastic is tough to set fire to and makes a bit of a smell. The sooner we bring back
Bobby Campbell the better... we went top of the league with him in charge (for one game) and if he had the money to
spend that the mad Mourinho has then not only would we have won EVERY game 23-0 but the Premier League would
have awarded us bonus points for being so good.

Of course, I jest. Chelsea yet again were extremely unlucky not to win this game by half time, and with injuries mounting
you would have to say Chelsea have done pretty well over the Xmas period.

Nevertheless when Chelsea do not win they will receive criticism. I really try to avoid it if I can. Instead I should just praise
Drogba who yet again was magnificent and looks a snip - are you watching Rooney? I hope that by the end of the
season he gets at least 30 goals.

Cech, Terry, Cole and Robben are out. Sheva is looking lost and after great boasts that we had strength in depth we
are looking a little shaky at the back. To concede 6 goals in 3 league games is unheard of for Chelsea. We have
conceded as many in total a little over halfway through the season as we did in the whole of Jose's first season in the
league.

Perversely I am enjoying this. Four points behind United who look in formidable form we finally look like we have a title
race on our hands. Games mean something now and if Chelsea were to win the league again then it would arguably
Jose's greatest achievement considering how well Man U have been playing. On the other hand the players must really
focus on the last eighteen games. Having 20 shots on goal in a game and only scoring 2 is simply not good enough
(Kalou get some target practise in!) and they must tighten up at the back.

In any case, it is ironic that the team that we have dropped home points against are the ones that nearly murdered Carlo
and Petr (only kidding!) and are partly to blame for Chelsea not winning every match 200-nil.

Oh, and as a final note it was great to spend the game sitting next to two female tourists from Thailand. They were the
loudest fans in the West Lower even though they knew none of the songs nor could pronounce "Chelsea" properly,
resorting to shouting, "Come on Chair!" or screaming whenever Lampard took a corner. Bloody fantastic, these new
fans. In contrast was an English Chelsea fan behind me who consistently and unashamedly sang, "Chelsea, wherever
you may be..." a couple of times during the match.

Lord, give me strength during these times of crisis.
