05 05 2006        Spurs 2 Chelsea 1
As a football fan there are times when you go into a game feeling that you will not get a result.

Chelsea fans are usually quite superstitious. Some wear their Y-fronts back to front, others wear odd socks to bring
them luck. Today, you felt it was not going to be our day. Unwittingly, we took the Victoria line to Seven Sisters. Well,
only until Warren Street as the rest of the line was shut due to some kind of railworks. A £25 cab ride later, we arrived at
the shithole that is White Hart Lane and took the usual abuse from the Spurs fans as we queued to get in. It was only
then that I realised that I was in the lower section. The last and only time i sat here we lost 5-1 in the League Cup. So
Chelsea losing today is my fault - I apologise, Jose.

Chelsea started with great passion and scored with a superb Maka goal. It seemed that my fears were unfounded. Until
Spurs scored. After that, you rarely felt Chelsea would win... I can't explain it - just gut feel. And I have got a massive gut.
After the break Spurs scored after a Cannibal slip-up. As at Barca, he made a mistake that lead to a crucial goal being
conceded. Then, with 25 minutes to go, JT was sent off by the inept Graham Poll. I am yet to see the incident, but there
seemed many fouls by Spurs that had been unpunished with any card whatsoever before he received his marching
orders.

As usual with Chelsea, we seemed to play better with 10 on the pitch than 11. If Robben had scored instead of hitting
the post then we would have been celebrating a hard fought draw. In any case, Chelsea deserved a point out of the
game, but missed too many chances and made too many mistakes to warrant anything more than that. I am looking
forward to seeing some of the replays of important incidents to see if there was any injustice against us.

The silver lining on the grey cloud was the pride of England, Arsenal, losing to West Ham. I wonder what the papers will
be talking about tomorrow - smug reports of Chelsea losing or writing about another valiant performance from the Arse
which they failed to win again?

This result makes the game at Old Trafford even more crucial... At least we should have a more exciting season this
time instead of one where we had already won the league with 10 games to go!
