21 08 2006        Chelsea 3 Manchester City 0
Victories do not come more comprehensive than this: Chelsea dominated the match, had many chances and restricted
Manchester City to only a handful of shots on goal.

Most Chelsea fans felt apprehensive especially following the loss to Liverpool a week ago. Then when Arsenal and
Liverpool only managed draws against mediocre opposition perhaps the die was cast.

However, buoyed by an excellent atmosphere (I heard at least 2 people singing in the West Upper too!) Chelsea quickly
took command. Ironically, it was some of the "old guard" who set the pace, with Lampard and Terry scoring in the first
half. Then, with City down to 10 men, Drogba crowned a fine performance with a well deserved goal.

On a side note it was good to see SWP back. As soon as Joe Cole is back he almost certainly will be dropped - while he
is in the team he needs to put in consistent performances to give Jose a headache.

Shevchenko was ok - he did not particularly stand out although if Chelsea continue to win his goalscoring record will be
made irrelevant.

So, on to Boro - a traditionally tough fixture and let us hope there is no repeat of last year's shambles.
