17 04 2006       Chelsea 3 Everton 0
So we need just one point from our remaining nine to win the league. Even though we are unlikely to blow it, I will not feel
safe until not only are we mathematically guaranteed as champions, but have the trophy in our hands.

I found it painful to try and cheer on Spurs against Man U before the game, but as usual they couldn't do us any
favours. It's tough to know who I would prefer to win 4th spot. Ideally it would be Spurs, because I hate them slightly less
than I do Arsenal. It would make for an extremely interesting close season.

Everton had nothing to play for yesterday, and it showed. Chelsea was in control throughout the game, aided by a harsh
red card for Lee Carsley. Having said that, Chelsea players have been sent off for similar challenges this season.

Drogba scored an unbelievable header for the second, after Lampard had scored in the first half with a typical 25 yard
strike. Then Essien scores one of the goals of the season. He should be scoring more, but I hope next season he will
feel more relaxed. It was good to see that Lampard over the last three games has returned to form. Good for Chelsea
and good for England.

My highlight of the day was meeting Mr Bean, but unfortunately he did no slapstick routines for us. It appears his son is
a Chelsea fan.

So to this weekend's semi. Chelsea seem to be back on form. Both defences are excellent so I would not be surprised if
the game was low scoring, but at the moment you would have to say Chelsea have the slight advantage.
